Use Mobster from Claude Code, Cursor and Codex, give its agent Linear, Notion or GitHub during a task, and send results to Sheets, Notion or Discord.

# Connectors

Your iPhone is the connector for the apps with no API, like WhatsApp and iMessage. Use Mobster from the agent you already use, give Mobster’s agent the tools of the services you work in, and send what a task finds where you work.

In Mobster for Mac

Settings › Connectors › **Add**, next to Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor or Codex.

Claude Code, from your terminal

```
claude mcp add --scope user mobster -- /Applications/Mobster.app/Contents/MacOS/mobster-agent mcp
```

Or pick yours below: each guide has the setup, a first run, and what to do when it doesn’t connect.

- [Agents in your terminal6](#terminal)
- [Editors and IDEs6](#editors)
- [Desktop apps1](#desktop)
- [Any MCP client](#any-title)
- [Use in tasks10](#use)
- [Send results6](#results)
- [Config files](#where-title)

Tested: we ran Mobster in it. The rest follow each client’s own docs.

## Any MCP client

Mobster speaks MCP over stdio, so any client that starts a local server can use it: the command is the agent inside Mobster for Mac, /Applications/Mobster.app/Contents/MacOS/mobster-agent, and its one argument is mcp.

```
{  "mcpServers": {    "mobster": {      "command": "/Applications/Mobster.app/Contents/MacOS/mobster-agent",      "args": ["mcp"]    }  }}
```

## Use in tasks

Mobster for Mac’s agent calls a service’s tools during a task, through the vendor’s own MCP server. Each tool is Allow, Ask or Block, and every tool asks first until you choose Allow. The [use cases](https://mobster.dev/use-cases#connector) show a task for each.

## MCP config file location by client

The file each client reads for local MCP servers on a Mac, and the command that adds Mobster to it, from each client’s own documentation as its page cites it.

### Every client’s config file and command

| Client | Config file | Add Mobster |
|---|---|---|
| [Claude Code](https://mobster.dev/connectors/claude-code) | ~/.claude.json for you, or .mcp.json at the repository root for your team | [One command, on its page](https://mobster.dev/connectors/claude-code) |

## Questions

- ### Should I use the app’s button, the one command or a guide?
  In Mobster for Mac, Settings › Connectors adds Mobster to Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor and Codex, one button each, under Use Mobster from…. Every other agent takes the same server from its MCP config. Open a client’s guide when you’d rather add it by hand, or when it doesn’t connect.
- ### My agent isn’t listed. Can it use Mobster?
  If it can start a local MCP server, yes. Mobster speaks MCP over stdio: the command is /Applications/Mobster.app/Contents/MacOS/mobster-agent, the agent inside Mobster for Mac, and its one argument is mcp. Most clients take the JSON block above.
- ### Does Mobster need its own model key?
  Not for your agent. Mobster has no hosted model, and the agents you connect bring their own. Mobster’s own agent runs on your Claude or OpenAI key, or in Mobster for Mac on a plan you already pay for, such as Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI.
- ### What runs where?
  Everything runs on your Mac: the MCP server, the simulator and the commands. No Mobster server sits between your agent and the phone. A result leaves your Mac only for the destination you chose, and a connector’s tool call only for that service’s own server.

## Rather not edit config files?

Mobster for Mac sets up your iPhone and connects your agent in one window, then shows every step it takes.
