Founding Engineer, iOS & macOS

You own how Mobster reaches an iPhone: the cable, Wi-Fi, WebDriverAgent and the Mac app around them.

About Mobster

Agents learned to use the browser first, and the same shift is coming to the phone, where your apps, messages and accounts live. We build Mobster so agents can do anything on your real iPhone, and ask you before anything goes out.

Andy Guo founded Mobster, and Radish Retail, LLC builds, sells and supports it. Mobster for Mac is the app people pay for, and its engine is open source under MIT.

What you’ll do

  • Make any iPhone connect to Mobster in one step, over a cable or Wi-Fi, and stay connected.
  • Own our WebDriverAgent build: signing, install, the accessibility tree and how fast it answers.
  • Build the native parts of Mobster for Mac in Swift and Rust: Shortcuts actions, permissions, updates.
  • Ship the Tauri app that holds it together, from first launch to the signed, notarized download.
  • Catch the iOS releases that break us before our users do, and fix them the same week.

What we look for

  • Five or more years shipping iOS or macOS software that people use.
  • Deep knowledge of XCTest, XCUITest or WebDriverAgent, and of code signing and provisioning.
  • Comfort below the app: USB, networking, launchd, entitlements.
  • You debug with evidence: logs, traces and a reproduction on a real device.

Nice to have

  • Rust, or Tauri in production.
  • libimobiledevice, usbmuxd or Apple’s device services.
  • A fleet of test devices you kept running.
  • Open-source work we can read.

Location

Work from anywhere in the United States. We ask for four hours a weekday that overlap with Pacific time.

Pay

$160,000 to $210,000 base salary a year, and meaningful early equity. The range holds anywhere in the US. Where an offer sits in it depends on your experience.
